What is BioMatrix?

BioMatrix is a mentoring program for anyone interested in issues related to life sciences and engineering. We are a community of students, clinicians, researchers, faculty, and industry professionals who are interested in sharing experiences related to a career in the biological sciences and engineering.

Who should join BioMatrix?

BioMatrix is for MIT undergraduates, MIT and HST graduate students, alumni, and professionals from academia, clinical medicine, and industry.

You should join BioMatrix if you are interested in life sciences and engineering, including biology, chemistry, cognitive sciences, medicine, public health, biomedical engineering, or related engineering sciences.

What does BioMatrix provide?

As a Biomatrix member, you will be invited to monthly members dinners, with interactive programming. We also organizes a variety of more intimate events to facilitate relationships between student members and individual mentors. BioMatrix mentors are willing to share their experiences with education and career options in life sciences, medicine, biomedical engineering, and many other fields.

What are the dates and topics of the 2009-2010 dinners?

"What advice would you offer an undergraduate interested in bio-related sciences and engineering?"

Make good use of your summers by getting involved in undergraduate research programs (UROP or REU) in a variety of fields. Branch out. Try something new. It's like New York lotto -- hey, you never know.
